Communicating Information to Persons with Sensory and Visual Impairments

Christian Care Retirement Community will take such steps as are necessary to ensure that qualified persons with disabilities, including those with impaired sensory or speaking skills, receive effective notice concerning benefits or services or written material concerning services offered by this facility and waivers of rights. Such aids needed are provided without cost to the person being served.

Limited English Proficient (LEP) Persons

Christian Care Retirement Community shall provide communications of all available programs offered by the facility to all persons, including those with Limited English Proficiency (LEP). All efforts will be made to translate for LEP persons at no cost to ensure them an equal opportunity to benefit from services and programs.

Access To Facility Programs & Services

Policy

Christian Care Retirement Community and all of its programs, activities and services are accessible to and usable by a disabled person, including persons with impaired hearing and vision.

Access Features Include:

  • Convenient off-street parking designated specifically for disabled persons
  • Curb cuts and ramps between parking areas and buildings
  • Automatic doors
  • Level access into the first and second floor levels with elevator access to all other levels
  • Fully accessible offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, public waiting areas, dining rooms and resident rooms
  • A full range of assistive and communication aids provided to persons with impaired hearing, vision, speech, or manual skills, without additional charge for such aids. Some of these aids include:
    • Readers and taped material for the blind and large print materials for the visually impaired
    • Flash Cards, Alphabet boards and other communication boards
    • Assistive devices for persons with impaired manual skills
    • Amplified telephones
    • TDD Telephone Communication
    • Qualified sign language interpreters for the deaf (by appointment and advance notice)
